Born on March 1, 2001, in Baní, Dominican Republic, Wander Franco comes from a family deeply rooted in baseball

Played minor league ball in the 1990s, and his uncles, Erick Aybar and Willy Aybar, have both played in Major League Baseball.

He signed with the Tampa Bay Rays organization on July 2, 2017, and made his professional debut in 2018 with the Princeton Rays.

At just 17 years old, Franco showcased his talent by hitting for the cycle while playing for Princeton and was named the 2018 Appalachian League Player of the Year.
