To ensure that we provide the best possible experience to all our Free Fire India fans right from the start, we have decided to delay the launch for a few more weeks.

Garena is gearing up to re-enter India with its popular battle royale title, Free Fire, on September 5th. The Singapore-based company has promised a completely new experience for mobile gamers and will introduce India-centric features.

Last year in February, the Indian government recommended banning 54 Chinese mobile applications, including Free Fire, which was one of the most downloaded games in 2021.

In an interview with Indianexpress.com, Vaibhav Odhekar, Senior Manager and Game Producer at Garena, stated that the modified version has been developed in compliance with local laws and regulations.

What’s New in Free Fire India?

Garena has chosen Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the face of Free Fire India, where he will be featured as a playable character named ‘Thala.’ This character will assist players in progressing easily from newcomers to grandmasters, the highest rank in Free Fire, which is given to the top 300 players in a region.

Similar to Battlegrounds Mobile India, Free Fire India will implement a ‘Platinum Limit’ and remind players to take breaks if they play for extended periods. Additionally, the Singapore-based company will remind users that the game is a virtual world.

To comply with Indian laws, the game will introduce spending limits and a transparency reporting system. To bolster its presence in India’s esports market, Garena recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Uttar Pradesh government, allowing the company to host an international-level esports tournament in the state in December.

How to Pre-register and Download Free Fire India?

Free Fire India will be available for download on Android starting September 5th.The Google Play Store presently accepts pre-registrations for the game. Interested players can simply search for ‘Free Fire India’ and tap on the green ‘Pre-register’ button to sign up.

After signing up, players can choose to automatically download the game once it becomes available or opt for manual installation. Unfortunately, there is no information available at this time regarding whether Garena plans to launch the game on Apple devices, as a search query for ‘Free Fire India’ on the Apple App Store did not yield any relevant results.”
